Two Paths to Major Scholarship Money
For high-achieving students in Oklahoma, two of the biggest merit-based scholarship opportunities come down to test scores:
National Merit through the PSAT. Becoming a Semifinalist is the first step toward National Merit scholarships, including full-tuition or full-ride packages at about 30 universities.
The Oklahoma Rising Scholars Award through the ACT. Students who score at the very top qualify for an in-state scholarship, currently worth up to $24,000 a year.
Each award is earned by less than 1% of high school seniors.
We help students on either path.
National Merit: We’ve helped 17 students become Semifinalists in the past three years, including 10 of the 31 students we prepped for the fall 2025 PSAT.
Oklahoma Rising Scholars: A senior qualified this fall, a junior has already scored above this year’s cutoff, and more students are working toward it now.

✦ Luke came through our 8-week PSAT program and earned National Merit Semifinalist. He kept in touch as he prepared for the ACT and SAT on his own, and the growth kept coming: a 35 ACT, a 1510 SAT.

✦ Caleb came to us in August of his senior year with a 30 ACT. After just two months of one-on-one sessions, he had earned a 34 superscore and qualified for the Oklahoma Rising Scholars Award.

✦ Charlotte was a sophomore with a 28 ACT when she started with us in the spring. After individual math prep and our 6-week ACT group class, she scored a 33. We kept working together, and this fall, as a junior, she cleared this year’s Rising Scholars cutoff.

Meet Angie Kelley
Angie has spent more than thirty years in education as a math teacher, coach, and tutor.
She grew up as the youngest of seven in Edmond, Oklahoma, and she knows the difference it makes when someone sees something in you before you see it yourself. That’s what she gives every student she works with.
She also knows what a great score can do. Angie took the ACT twice. The second time was mostly to beat her older brother, which she did with a 33, including a perfect 36 on math. With no research internship or national orchestra on her resume, she’s convinced that score is why Yale sent the acceptance letter.
As a teacher and coach, she saw it again and again: the students who grew the most were the ones who started to believe what was already true about them.
That’s the idea she built Land Run Learning on.
